Synopsis In 1711, a group of alchemists seeking eternal life gathered on a boat to summon the "demon" that held the secret. The demon agreed to give them what they wanted—an elixir of life, the method to create more, and the secret to ending their new-found existence. The following night, alchemists began disappearing, "eaten" by one of their own. Realizing the threat posed by being close together, they decided to scatter across the world. Centuries later, in Prohibition-era America, the immortals have come together once again, and the "stupid commotion" starts. Each of the stories in the series involves several unrelated plots intersecting and crossing each other as events spiral farther and farther out of control.

Member Review Baccano! is an anime that requires your attention at all the time, it jumps from timezone to timezone (sometimes announced, sometimes not). The story continues to slide between 1929-1931, eventually leading to a finished puzzle. At first I did not exactly like the anime, but the idea still attracted me and also the tension in the anime. Which got me going every time, somewhere halfway I finally got a hang of the jumping between timezones and getting a grip of the real story, at this point I allready knew this really is a great anime.
I think Im soon gonna rewatch this anime to be able to enjoy the first few eps to its fullest.

Isaac is an idiot thief who owes his success to the insanity of his crimes (i.e. stealing non-valuable items such as chocolate) and the garish costumes he habitually wears, leading witnesses to assume that he is a performer of sorts rather than a thief. He is in love with his partner-in-crime, Miria. He becomes immortal in 1930, after drinking the immortality liquor.

Another idiot thief, she is the partner and lover of Isaac Dian. Miria comes across as immature and gullible, blindly believing and supporting everything Isaac says. She also becomes an immortal in 1930. Together they appear extremely stupid, whimsical and oblivious, but they have great affection for the people they meet and always believe the best of them.

Firo is a Camorra member and a skilled fighter. He falls in love with Ennis and later "eats" Szilard and saves her from death. He is a good friend of the Gandors and Claire. Like a number of cast members, he becomes immortal in 1930, by drinking the liquor of immortality brewed by Barnes when the elixir is mistaken for a celebratory bottle of alcohol.
