One of the best Anime I've ever watched. The protagonist is Allen Walker. He lives in a world where it is filled with Akuma (Demons), he is an exorcist that is set to destroy them. Akuma are created by the Millennium Earl when a person griefs for their dead loved ones. The Earl manipulates the griever into calling out the name of their loved one and trapping them into a figurine. The loved one then eats the griever because it has made the dead alive once again. Thus, Allen Walker tries to stop all this inhumanity and to destroy the Earl, the source of evil.
