Synopsis
This story is loosely based on the novel written by Alexandre Dumas, "The Count of Monte Cristo". Although it takes the perspective of Albert, a young man who's father had actually once framed the count and also stole the count's fiancee. Albert first meets the count while travelling and is fascinated by the counts lifestyle of luxury. This story also takes place in the future rather than the 1800's like the original story.

I liked this show i wouldnt say loved but i really liked it, i know some people didnt watch the hole thing but thats because of how the backgrounds and clothes were done most likley cause it is odd but it was also very artistic and a very good anime if you get into it i would definatly recommend to people because if they can get themself past how is was done it was very good i wish some people would give it another chance

Le Comte de Monte-Cristo
A mysterious nobleman living in luxury. The Count's previous identity was Edmond Dantès, a sailor who worked for the Morrel family's shipping company. Edmond was imprisoned in the Château d'If on false charges, and there it was that he met Gankutsuou. In exchange for the strength and means to gain revenge, he allowed the cold-blooded demon to possess him. Because of Gankutsuou, he is afflicted with an odd condition which causes his body to be crystalline, revealing his bones and internal organs.
