Synopsis

The series is the first set in the Cosmic Era. This series begins with the Bloody Valentine War between Earth and the colonies.On one side is the Earth Alliance, and on the opposite is the space colonies that form ZAFT (Zodiac Alliance of Freedom Treaty). Mankind is divided over human genetic engineering, with normal humans known as "Naturals" and the genetically altered humans known as "Coordinators". ZAFT has a head start on mobile suit design, the Earth Alliance quickly catches up with its five prototype Gundams. With ZAFT having stolen four of the prototypes, young Coordinator Kira Yamato pilots the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam and is forced to fight his old friend Athrun Zala. Little do they know that there are sinister forces at work that go far beyond their worst nightmares. Gundam Seed Destiny follows the events 2 years after Gundam Seed introducing many new characters.

Member Review

Both Gundam Seed/Destiny are great editions to the gundam series. The characters are well developed, and the story lines are thought out with great mecha fights. A must see if you like gundam.

Characters

Kira Yamato
Kira is a first-generation Coordinator. At the beginning of Gundam SEED, Kira lived on the neutral space colony Heliopolis to avoid the war. An expert in computer science,he assisted with research and development at the Heliopolis technical college he attended.*GS/GSD

Athrun Zala
Athrun Zala is a Coordinator, and a member of the Rau Le Creuset ZAFT special forces team at the beginning of Gundam SEED. He is the son of Patrick Zala, a member of the PLANT Supreme Council.*GS/GSD

Shinn Asuka
Shin is a Coordinator and a former citizen of Orb. He was the only survivor of his family when they got caught in the crossfires between the GAT-X131 Calamity and the ZGMF-X10A Freedom mobile suits. He is the main character in Gundam Seed Destiny.*GSD
